Time Bandits, Terry Gilliam's classic '80s fantasy adventure, has been adapted for television (specifically Apple TV+) by Taika Waititi, Jemaine Clement, and Iain Morris. And we've got the first full trailer, a wild journey complete with The B-52's 1989 hit "Roam".

Over 10 episodes, Lisa Kudrow's signature comedic timing is in the lead as Time Bandits sees a group of thieves in a fantasy world (well, worlds...across time and space) who are suddenly joined by Kevin (Kal-El Tuck), an 11-year-old history fiend. Kevin's parents are in peril, so his new friends, led by Kudrow's character Penelope — with the help of the boy's mega memory for historical events — might be the only shot at saving them.

Across the Stone Age, Ice Age, many other Ages, across the biggest moments in the history books, Kevin and the gang will travel every episode, meeting a few famous historic faces. The cast includes Tadhg Murphy, Roger Jean Nsengiyumva, Rune Temte, Charlyne Yi, Rachel House, Kiera Thompson, James Dryden, Felicity Ward, Francesca Mills, and Imaan Hadchiti. And of course, Waititi and Clement turn up as part of the cast at points too.

Time Bandits will premiere on Apple TV+ with the first two episodes on July 24, then two new episodes every Wednesday. You can watch the original film on Max now.
